Dear Reproductive Specialists,
Our IVF community has always been enthusiastic, creative and resourceful. However all of us are now being put to the test during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Many of us are now required to work from home, away from our work and routine as well as our colleagues, friends and family. We believe that many reproductive scientists around the world are anxious and isolated. We want to help by encouraging the use of this time to learn, teach and network. We are therefore organising a World-Wide collaborative effort for anyone involved in reproductive science & medicine. Our goal is to promote education and communication for the wellbeing of all in the field who are affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Alpha Society has been closely monitoring developments surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic to assess the impact on our 13th Biennial Alpha Conference, scheduled for 23-26 April 2020, at Barcelo Sevilla Renacimiento Hotel in Sevilla, Spain.
As you are aware, the situation has worsened rapidly as the number of infections has increased in numerous countries worldwide, leading to travel bans and restrictions on hosting of events and congresses by governments and health authorities.
The Spanish Minister of Health has now released an official statement recommending suspension of all congresses, conferences and seminars in Spain involving healthcare professionals. In accordance with this decision and the guidance provided by health authorities around the world, the Executive Committee of Alpha has decided to postpone the conference at this time. The 13th Biennial Alpha Conference is being postponed to the take place between the 29th of October and 1st of November, 2020 at the Barcelo Sevilla Renacimiento Hotel in Sevilla, Spain.

Currently the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has been contained mostly to the Wuhan region of China, although there is growing evidence that the epidemic is spreading globally. It is important to note that at this point we are still learning about this virus and, for now, little is known about its impact on reproduction and pregnancy.
